Five Chinese Commercials by American Brands
Rather than highlight some of the best ads airing in the United States right now, I thought it would be interesting to see how American brands are trying to conquer the Chinese market. Great advertising begins with great copy. Here are five spots that do the trick.
Adidas: Impossible is Nothing
Beautiful graphic design with a universal message. This ad could run in any nation.
Coke-Cola: Gift
Coca-Cola Commercial starring Chinese famous singers Zhang Shaohan and Pan Weibo
KFC: Taoist Monk
This awesome ad caused a bit of a stir in Asia. Zen Masters are vegetarians.
Snicker’s: Ping Pong
There is no better way to sell a candy bar than to combine table tennis and the Matrix.
It’s a nice riff on this Japanese game show skit.
Visa: Separate Checks?
Geo-political intrigue that doesn’t get lost in the translation.
